Training Resources

STEDI.org

Founded as the Substitute Teaching Institute at Utah State University in 1995, STEDI.org provides research-based training materials and services designed to improve student achievement when students are taught by a substitute teacher and to assist those who manage substitute teachers. STEDI.org implements research-based practices to improve recruiting, training, and retention efforts in school districts. 

 

Active TOC substitutes have access to free or reduced cost training through this program. Courses include SubSkills, Advanced Classroom Management, Advanced Teaching Strategies, Advanced Special Education, and The Role of the Para-Educator. Email training@teachersoncall.com for more information.

Sanford Inspire

The Sanford Inspire Program is a leading creator of professional development, providing targeted support to teachers. Unlike other resources, the Sanford Inspire Program offers free, online, immediately implementable, 30-60 minute learning experiences to improve educator’s individual knowledge, skills, and mindsets. All modules are organized around five Domains of Practice including Learning Environment, Planning & Delivery, Motivation, Student Growth & Achievement, and Professional Practices.

Vector Solutions

Vector Solutions is a leader in eLearning and performance support specializing in solutions for the education market. Training is available in School Safety, Conflict/Behavior Management, Special Education Law, Autism Spectrum, and more. Best of all, if you are a current TOC substitute, training is free of cost to you. Active TOC substitutes are automatically given access to the training within a week of hire.

Our training modules focus on helping substitute educators create a positive learning environment and helping educators understand how students learn. This professional development is available to all TOC substitutes.
