Teachers On Call values professional development, and we make a significant investment in the education and growth of our substiuttes. We work with several organizations to offer comprehensive and applicable online training resources. All substitutes are eligible to participate and we encourage them to take advantage of these programs. In addition to these online training tools, we also offer in person Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training sessions on a monthly basis. Please see below for information regarding our training partnerships.
The Sanford Inspire Program is a leading creator of professional development, providing targeted support to teachers. Unlike other professional development resources, the Sanford Inspire Program offers free, online, immediately implementable, 60-minute learning experiences to improve educator’s individual knowledge, skills, and mindsets. All modules are organized around five Domains of Practice including Learning Environment, Planning & Delivery, Motivation, Student Growth & Achievement, and Professional Practices. For more specific information about this program, take a look at our Sanford Inspire page.
Founded as the Substitute Teaching Institute at Utah State University in 1995, STEDI.org provides research-based training materials and services designed to improve student achievement when students are taught by a substitute teacher and to assist those who manage substitute teachers. STEDI.org has forged ahead implementing research-based practices to improve recruiting, training, and retention efforts in school districts. Teachers On Call currently offers four free training courses to all substitutes (Classroom Management, Teaching Strategies, Special Education, and Para-Educator).
