Webinar - Diverse Classrooms: Unconscious Bias

Working in education, we interact with people from different backgrounds on a consistent basis.  This difference is not just limited to race or ethnicity, but also includes gender, age, religious practices, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, etc.  All of these contributes to a person's or group's culture. When interacting people from backgrounds different from ours, it can cause stress, discomfort and misunderstanding.  In this training session, we will define bias and how it plays out in our lives, as well as how they influence communication and learning styles and what we can do to challenge our own biases.

This session will be held on Wednesday, April 22, from 6:00pm to 7:00pm.  This course is open for any current Teachers On Call staff or applicant.  After completion of this course, completion letters will be issued via email, which may be submitted for CEU's.
