The Early Bird Gets the Worm

Although it's still technically summer, back to school messages are already slowly but surely starting to infiltrate our lives.  While we should all most definitely still be taking advantage of the remaining weeks of summer, there is no harm in starting to prepare yourself for the upcoming school year.  After all, the start of a new year brings a new opportunity to influence countless young lives.  Since it is our job to help make sure you're feeling as confident and prepared as possible to return to the classroom, the next few weeks of our blog posts will be dedicated to 'back to school' related tips and tricks that will help you gear up for the year ahead.  To kick things off, this week's blog post shares an article posted on www.nea.com entitled "33 Ways to Start the First Year Off Right". While this article is technically intended to reach first year full time teachers, many of the items listed apply to substitute teachers as well, and are important reminders for even the most seasoned educators to consider heading into another year.  Take a look at the article, and let us know what some of your go-to techniques are for getting ready to start a new year off strong!
