As a service and convenience to our substitute teachers, Teachers On Call is now providing an optional online training course for you to improve your skills in classroom management and teaching strategies.
What is it?
The SubSkills Online Training Program is a 6-10 hour course of study that includes an assessment test with a
printable SubDiploma showing your scores. The Paraeducator Skills Training is a 2-3 hour course of study.
What does it cost?
The full SubSkills Online Training Package (SubOrientation, SubSkills, and SubAssessment) is available online
for $39.95. This will give you access to the online course and all of the printable PDF files. A Paraeducator
Skills Training course is available for $19.95. Other courses are also available … click on the link to find
other learning opportunities.
How will this benefit me?
A passing score of 85% will earn you a certificate and the notation of this extra certification everywhere your
qualifications are posted within Teachers On Call. When schools log onto TOC 24/7, they can see that you have
taken the time to enhance your skills, better qualifying you to work in their classroom settings.
When can I use it?
You can register with the website and access it for any length of time at no charge. Many other resources beyond
the training courses are available on the website for your additional reference. Your purchasing of one of the
Skills training courses allows you to access those courses themselves on your own time, any hour of the day or
night for two years.
What kind of computer do I need?
You will need a computer that has a browser with Internet Explorer 7+ or Firefox 2+ installed. To hear the audio
and video clips you will also need speakers or headphones connected to your computer.
How do I access the training?
Log on to https://stedi.org/sp/?dist_org=toc and
register with your email as a username and create your own password. When you get to School District Information,
choose "Staffing Agency" and then Teachers On Call. Once you are logged on, go to training and purchase the SubSkills
Training Package. When your credit card information has been submitted you will have instant access.
